Fusion Maidstone
Is a health & wellbeing charity based in Park Wood. We opened our doors in 2003 and set about developing programmes, activities and services to address the changing needs of the residents of Park Wood with a strong focus on addressing health inequalities.
Fusion subscribes strongly to the prevention agenda to improve and maintain health, wellbeing, avoid ill health, especially in an ageing and growing population. Fusion have worked closely with the community to develop a clear role as a trusted community hub. Our mission is and always has been to promote health, education, recreational opportunity, self-improvement and community support capacity of the residents of Park Wood and wider Maidstone area.
Everything Fusion does is based around four core objectives, Public Health, Food/Fuel Poverty, Social Inclusion, Mental Health. Services are either delivered directly by Fusion or by a network of partner agencies. We bring services to local people thereby removing barriers to engagement.
Is an exciting new three-year engagement project. Courtesy of funding from the National Lottery Reaching Communities the project proposes:
We are looking for volunteers to help support the project outreach workers by proactively speaking about the project across Park Wood. You will actively be part of the project’s steering group and assist in identifying hard-to-reach individuals and families in Park Wood.
As a volunteer you will receive full training, travel expenses, regular supervision, and a DBS check which will be paid for by Fusion Maidstone.
